Overview
WearSmart™ removes the guesswork from elbow replacement scheduling. A lead wire is embedded in the ceramic coating of a Ceram-Back® style elbow. The lead connects to either direct power or a PLC. When wear progresses to the lead wire’s depth, a signal is sent to the controller — turning a green indicator light to red.
When the light is green: keep running. When the light turns red: schedule the replacement before next maintenance window.
The result: zero unexpected blowouts. No more production-loss surprises. Maintenance teams plan the swap, order the part, and execute on a schedule that fits the plant’s calendar — not the elbow’s.

How it works
A patented lead wire is built directly into the coating of a ceramic-coated, abrasion-resistant elbow. When the wear reaches the lead wire’s depth, the circuit completes and signals the controller. Until then, normal operation.
Configuration
Built on top of a Ceram-Back® base elbow. Configure that elbow first (size, material, degree, CLR), then add WearSmart instrumentation.
